Pablo Ruiz Picasso (1881 – 1973) is a painter, sculptor, printmaker and ceramist who spent most of his artistic life in France. He is known for the variety of styles which he helped to develop and explore during his lifetime. His most famous works include “Les Demoiselles d’Avignon ” (1907), and “Guernica” (1937), a dramatic representation of the bombing of the village of Guernica by the German and Italian Forces.
Exceptionally prolific throughout his life, Picasso has achieved universal fame for his revolutionary artistic achievements. He is one of the leading artists of the 20th Century.
