Born in Montmagny, QC, Paul Cloutier studied at the École des beaux-arts de Québec and continued his training at the Wonen Werken and Amsterdam Graphish of Holland, as well as the Kala Institute in Berkeley, California.
Experienced printmaker, Cloutier executes etching techniques with brio. He particularly excels in the techniques of collography, in which is one of the undisputed masters. His prints are characterized by ambient light.
He was awarded the prize of the Society of American Artists (SAGA) New York. He has to his credit numerous solo and group exhibitions. He is listed in the prestigious Allgemeines Kunstlerlexicon.
Paul Cloutier lives and works at his studio in Montreal.
